Tom
"Mr. Golf" Horan
Tom was a veteran of TV and
radio in Orlando, Florida before moving to Western North Carolina to
continue his "Speaking of Golf"™ golf variety radio program
in a
beautiful new golf market that reminds him of a budding Orlando in the
times before the Golf Channel. Tom is also a long time proponent of the
game of golf in many different realms aside from his lengthy list of
media credentials and still manages to hit the links at least once a
week. Tom has recently completed the Master Club Fitter course and has
been awarded the title of Honorary Master Club Fitter. He also has been
named to the panel of Course Raters for Golfweek Magazine.
"Sonja"
The lovely Sonja™
was born and raised in the upstate New York area. She graduated from
the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, spent some time
at the Jersey shore, then headed south to Orlando, Florida.
While living in Orlando she has worked in advertising, marketing and
even done some TV commercials. Sonja says she got hooked on golf when
she appeared in a PGA Tour commercial with Sergio Garcia.
But it was Tom who “hooked” Sonja and swept her off
her
feet. Shortly after their wedding, Tom convinced her to leave Orlando
behind and move to the Asheville area in 2004. Good bye city life,
Asheville we are here!
